Default Crime Stats for OC - especially So OC?

I noticed in a link to an OC Register story that there were 27 robberies in Lake Forest from Jan-Nov 2008. I was wondering where that information is available for the rest of Orange County..... especially So OC since Sheriff Hitchens said there was no real crime in South OC to warrant CCWs ....

Here's a link that may provide some of the info you are looking for. It has 2007 numbers for violent crimes and property crimes, and percentage increase over 2006.

The graph itself does not break out type of crime, but if you use the dropdown boxes at the top, you can get numbers for murder, rape, burglary and larceny, three cities at a time. If you then click on "details" on the right side of the chart you will get a further breakdown, including arson, aggravated assault, etc.

CRIME STATISTICS: How does your city compare? - News - OCRegister.com

While the percentage of crime overall in south county is lower than the rest of the county, there is a very noticeable and disturbing trend in property crime for several south county cities (Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, RSM and San Juan Capistrano. SJC also has the 4th highest increase in violent crime in the county, thanks to the ongoing gang war with San Clemente.

So...lower than the rest of the county? Yes, but most definitely trending in the wrong direction.

Perfect. Thanks. It is always good to have verbal ammo for self defense while among liberal Holiday party goers .... As for discussions ..... I never start 'em, but I prefer ending them with the truth.

There are also crime stats available under the "E-Services" link on the OCSD website.

However, the results are not formatted as nicely as the OCRegister website.
