Default Mudslinging

As our movement to reform CCW issuance policies not only in Orange County but the whole state gathers steam it is imperative that we come across as a professional upstanding group. We never know who is watching and reading what we have to say.

It is important that anything said about Sandra Hutchens (or anyone else for that matter) be based on fact and not rumour or innuendo. Terms such as "SHEriff" are no longer acceptable on this site.

We appreciate your assistance in this endeavor.

Default Point well taken

As a recent recipient of Sheriff Hutchens denial letter for a renewal - my third renewal, and an instructor / author on the subject, I'm very cautious to associate myself with any group that would antagonize the Sheriff. This is a fight to win hearts and minds by presenting a compelling agreement based upon sound reasoning. We must take a measured approach in the words we choose. Leave the inflammatory rhetoric to the press.

I’m glad to see the rigor and standards applied to discussing other subjects has finally been applied to Hutchens and her actions (not that I agree with her). Some of the posts were counter productive to the cause. Moving to a consistent application of your policies has raised the credibility of this board for me.

Her official title is "Appointed Sheriff" NOT Sheriff!

A little history. . . In March of 1995 John Moorlach was appointed as the Orange County Treasure. In the following election he tried to use incumbent on the ballot. He was taken to court under the theory he was never elected. He lost, they won. On the ballot he was listed as "Appointed Treasure". Today that court case still stands.

She WILL be listed as "appointed Sheriff" on the ballot.
