Default the temperature-

is starting to get warm in the kitchen; what will the 'chef' do next? The customers are complaining about her menu, and she's getting feedback; a lot of feedback, keep it up!

That's the right idea.

A little clarification please. I have been reading these threads for a while. I was under the impression that the Sheriff told the BOS during the interviews she would only clean out the good old boys when it came to CCWs.

If that is so could the BOD fire her due to lying on a job application/interview? I know if I did this for a job my ass would be handed to me at the door.

Yes and presumably yes.

She definitely led them to believe that, even if she never stated it. Unfortunately, it is my understanding that they can't remove her (at least not just for that).

Keep in mind who runs the DoJ. Not a lot of reassurance there.

Though I appreciate that the BoS are addressing the issue of a negative mark on our DoJ record and CLETS from a SHEriff CCW revocation, I hope that would continue with the same amount of furvor in working with the SHEriff to accept the good cause resolution that was brought forward from the 11/18 board meeting, as that would solve everything... i.e. no revocations, no DoJ record/CLETS issue... Happy Safe Orange County citizens.

Actually it doesn't, nobody would get renewed.

Yeah, how much money is it going to cost to get DOJ to implement a computer entry just to satisfy OCSD? When CA is talking about 9+% sales taxes and tripling the car tax, I think it is unlikely.

If they didn't design it right, it could cost a bundle and take a lot of time to implement. And I mean implement in a fashion that:
  1. doesn't cause the officer in a traffic stop to become apprehensive
  2. the cause becomes immediately be visible to those conducting security checks on individuals

Take it from one who knows: even if they do implement this seemingly insignificant modification, there will be problems, mis-communications, foul-ups.

I don't even like the exemption wording of "revoked due to lack of good cause". I still think that has negative connotations especially since our causes ARE good (at least by what the policy should be, and by the policies most counties in this state use). So.. instead, if the Sheriff really has to revoke and she really wants to avoid a negative DoJ record on us, then.. the wording should be, "revoked because even though the good cause is valid, I, as OCSD Sheriff, am anti-gun and on my whim alone I'm deciding to revoke so that we can be as safe as LA county"... ahh.. yes.. that would then make it quite clear to everyone as to why my CCW would have been revoked.

"revoked due to lack of good cause" to most LEO's means you got caught lying about your good cause and they found out and revoked Your CCW.

I've been asking that question for almost a week now. About 170 LEO's so far.

This is not a scientific test, just a Q&A

It may not be a scientific test, but it gives us a really good idea of what the average LEO is going to think when they see that notation. Thanks for the info CCWI.

With opinions like that from LEO your credibility goes from, CCW holder, very trusted to be a law abiding citizen, to not so trust worthy.

NOT GOOD
