It may take a while for her to wipe her nose, fix her runny mascara and stop crying form all those mean citizens picking on her and attacking "right" to pick on everyone else.

I agree with your charaterization of Paine.

He seemed like a Union Bully.

Right. Lots of threatening inuendo, a smirk and the code name. I thought he was going to pull out his gun after the cell phone.

I thought SHEriff Hutchinson was going to speak again.

Is that going to be at the conclusion of this entire meeting?

I know who the SD guy is, and I think he did a great job. He made some really good points.

Funny you should mention that. When he pulled out his phone, for a moment I was afraid that he was going to pull out a gun.

He did good and made some great points. Plus traveled all the way from SD to be there.

I left at 4:45. Did anything happen after that? I figured they would banty it about the new resolution and take until 7:00.
All of the presentations were done well. I didn't like the not so veiled threats of lawsuits. That would make Hutchens circle the wagons. It's not her money! I even talked with the old man from the Brady group. I told him although I didn't agree with him I admired his "chutzpah" disagreeing with virtually everyone in the audience and stating his case. That's fine with me- If you don't like guns, don't buy one- I don't like golf and don't own any clubs...

I do too.

I look at it like a Lawyer who makes a comment, KNOWING it will get overruled, but saying it put's an indellible image forever in a jury's mind.

Default I watched it online..

..quite a showing and overall great representation of CCWs'; I kept waiting for someone to refute the statement regarding 'all those guns at a Ducks game' by the anti-gun people. No weapons are allowed there and CCWs' are law abiding citizens; and we aren't allowed to drink while carrying either - anywhere![Well, maybe in the privacy of your own home; but that's not a good idea either -- ]. I hope the new sheriff got a NEW perspective from this; there are OTHER counties that have policies contrary to the ones in LA county.

I have to admit, the 15 minute break when the resolution was being reworked, and immediately after the meeting, the whole atmosphere was surrealistic--OCSD staff mingling with the CCW crowd, actually talking together...very strange, gee, we should do this more often!

Don't get me wrong. I laughed when he said that to the sheriff. But it was kinda like an uncomfortable laugh. I understood the point and why, but I don't agree that particular comment should have been made, for image reasons and nothing else... It also gave Moorlock an opportunity to lecture the crowd on "not allowing it to become personal" (even though it IS personal to take someone's permit).
Everything else he said was great.
