I was wondering. For all of you that attended the meeting with the new OC . any news? would like to start the process but things have seemed to get a bit messy.

I'm watching that meeting online - WOW the sheriff there is VERY anti-gun and won't back down!

Glad I don't live there. But I do hope all of our fellow CCW'ers get something out of it for our cause.

I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

hoping we can just meet somewhere in the middle. you know. we don't want firearms to run around the streets and kill each other. the basis is for protection. period. NRA has done a good job. we'll see what happens

Congrats to everyone stepping forward and addressing the BOS. Your message got across regardless of the final outcome. I wish that I had heard all of the discussion. This afternoon, I only heard one pro sheriff comment and she was kinda weak.

FWIT - I think that you have a 3-2 board right now. Not too bad.

Sir. By your statement, it is obvious that you have not been trained in proper usage of weapons and their lawful use. I suggest you acquire a book titled "How to own a gun and stay out of jail". This book is edited yearly and updated to reflect the latest gun laws in the state of California. Your statement of "We don't want firearms to run around the street and kill each other" points in an obvious direction. For us here, that would be the wrong direction. I hope you were not serious. You are entitled to your opinion.
Carrying a concealed weapon is a serious matter as you may hold a person's life, literally in your hands.
Pardon me, I am respectfully doing this and I do not want this to be perceived as a a "flaming"

+1 for x-ffdo. And we don't want to meet in the middle either. We don't want restrictions on when we can carry because you never know when the S will HTF.

LE cannot protect us, and they don't have to. This is a matter of personal protection. On this, there can be no compromises.

No offense to you but we already have "firearms running around in the streets". The reason for the CCW is to protect us and our families against this. I lived in a gang infested city in LA county for 23 years. I moved to Orange County to get away from that and Sheriff Baca.
The NRA has done a good job but sometimes I don't agree with their brashness. Sheriff Hutchens hopefully will understand we are not wild cowboys and this is not LA County! We are the GOOD guys!

Wow...guns with legs and brains pulling their own triggers and committing murder all by themselves!

People forget that behind every firearm is a person controlling that weapon who is responsible for what it does. CCW holders have gone through extensive background checks by the Sheriff's department and the FBI and have been trained in how to use their weapons and how to behave responsibly with them. Criminals...not so much.

Oh. great.... here I was finishing my evening of browsing the M1911.org forum and came back to calccw... just getting ready to get to bed so that I could build up my strength for another day of fighting crime for truth justice and... the criminal court system.. or something like that... and here we have a gun just waiting to commit a crime!...
Where is a cop when you need one.....
Is there no safety left in the world....?
Why that gun could just go off and do it right on the internet.....
Somebody call a politician please... something must be done....like I could sleep NOW....
LIke I should go to bed now and have nightmares of all of the violence that could be done whilst I slumber by this old crusty smith and wesson.....

think he would take a 100.00 bucks for it?....
