Default Are you a gun loving liberal?

Here is some food for thought for the election.

Search Results - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

It's been floating around for a little while, but just because it's quiet, doesn't mean it's gone.

Has the definition of Republican been changed? The sponsors of that bill are not democrats.

HOLY S H I T! I cannot believe this. I totally missed who the authors of this bill are and every single one of them is a Republican. We should email everyone of them and voice our opinions. They are all from liberal states though, so I should come as no surprise and there are plenty of southern dems that are very pro 2nd amendment.

We need to post this on all the forums out there besides here!!!

Everyone needs to know and write our reps to vote NO to this!!!

I'm sure everyone who is a gun owner is going to feel bent over backwards when they read that too!! We need to push back and bend those in office backwards for a change!!

You guys are reading that wrong. Appendix A is the list of EXCEPTIONS to the ban.

No way this passes, unless of course we wake up tomorrow and the Dems have a fillibuster proof House and Senate.

And as far as writing your Rep? look how good that worked for the bailout bills that were so HUGELY unpopular. Feinstein even said on the floor of the Senate that her office had recieved 80,000 calls to vote no on the bailout but she was voting yes because her constituants "didn't understand"

(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to--`(A) any of the firearms, or replicas or duplicates of the firearms, specified in appendix A to this section, as such firearms were manufactured on October 1, 1993;

Yep. It also adds a 5-round-magazine exemption (if the rifle or shotgun takes 5 rounds or less it's not an AW).

The fact that a firearm is not listed in appendix A shall not be construed to mean that paragraph (1) applies to such firearm. No firearm exempted by this subsection may be deleted from appendix A so long as this subsection is in effect.
But it's still an AW ban that basically takes California's model and propagates it nationally.
