I just received my intent to revoke, due Dec 8. I'll send you the hard copy. I don't intend to appeal & get a denial. I'll wait until the '10 election when my original & one renewal was cause enough to get my CCW might be approved again. I hope all of our efforts will restore the process and cause to issue to where it was...

I'm an S & got mine on Thursday. I'll send you the letter. I don't plan to appeal & get a denial. My plan is to wait for 2010 when my good cause that was valid for the past 3 1/2 years might be valid again..

no reason to not to send more info. DO IT!

a smart person told me this yesterday....that is exactly what the SHEriff wants, for you to get scared and not give more info and just to take it as a loss. THAT is why each person who received the letter needs to appeal and send more info.

This is what she wants--people to give up.

Don't.

Don't give up. If they have sent out 400 revocations, make 400 appointments.

And if you get denied, APPEAL the denial, ALSO (this is the most important part), please come to the Board of Supervisors meeting on 11/18 with us. We ALL need to be there.

You have nothing to lose by sending in additional good cause documentation.
You already got a denial only it's called a revocation. You will still need to disclose it and explain why your license was revoked on your next application.

Penal Code Section 12051 – Applications for CCW Licenses; False Statements
(b) Any person who files an application required by subdivision (a) knowing that statements contained therein
are false is guilty of a misdemeanor.
(c) Any person who knowingly makes a false statement on the application regarding any of the following shall be
guilty of a felony:
(1) The denial or revocation of a license, or the denial of an amendment to a license, issued pursuant to
Section 12050.

(2) A criminal conviction.
(3) A finding of not guilty by reason of insanity.
(4) The use of a controlled substance.
(5) A dishonorable discharge from military service.
(6) A commitment to a mental institution.
(7) A renunciation of United States citizenship.

If you wait until 2010 it WILL be to late. If everyone takes that attitude then the sheriff will see it as a signal that she can continue on her present course because no one is objecting.
