These #'s just go to show that few people are even aware that you can get a CCW in Orange County.

The few people who know I have a CCW were completely astounded and had just assumed all along that concealed carry is banned in California.

It's our job to spread the word and make people aware of the fact that while we are not a shall-issue county and state, we are *not* no-issue like most people believe.

Hey, not like it's really a big deal for me, since I can't vote for the person who gets a share of my tax dollars.



NewShooter, you are right...not many people ARE aware you can get one in OC...but you still have to have GC, which doesn't apply to the majority of the population. Not that it's OC's problem, it's a state issue.

Yes, but only because "personal protection" isn't a GC. Otherwise it would apply to way more people.

Still, at least we're not canadian! Those guys have a WAY harder time than we do.

It would be interesting to sample the non-renewed and figure out why.

I'd bet most are people who've moved out of the county, and those that have died. I suspect we skew much older, so we're going to be kicking off at a higher rate.

In order to keep a stable number you have to have new applicants, and it's not like the Sheriff is going to be advertising.

How about we give the gun stores and ranges cards with the CalCCW address, to keep on the counter and hand out?

Not a bad idea. We could even put little flyers together, or print gun safety rules on them to encourage people to pick them up.

That was tried on a small scale, we got people that want to carry because it is their RIGHT!
