Good Cause in OC

I would've posted in the County FAQs section but I was blocked from starting a new thread (Mods any reason why? Feel free to move if need be.)

I'm going to become a registered process server and have been offered a large account (quite possibly large enough to quit my day job.)

As I would have to visit areas such as Compton, Santa Ana, Long Beach, Riverside, etc.....undesireable areas per se, would that be good cause?

I'm not looking for help in writing a good cause statement - I know the forum rules.

I just want to know if it'd be worth it. If I served a restraining order or divorce papers someone might not be so happy...

You weren't allowed to post in the FAQ section because that section is basically a "Read Only" section. As to needing a CCW because you're going to be a Process Server might not exactly be looked favorably on... if that's your basis for needing a CCW. Visiting "undesirable" areas isn't in itself good cause either. However, do you have good cause that falls into the categories that (IIRC) the FAQ section shows for Orange County? If so, you absolutely SHOULD apply. Orange County has increasingly become a tougher nut to crack, so to speak, than it was under previous Sheriffs.

If you're going to be carrying on the job and you're employed by someone else, you might need a letter from your employer that essentially consents to your being armed while on their time...

Others with MUCH more experience with Orange County will chime in here soon, I'm sure...

Basically, if you think you're going to need it, it's definitely worth investigating.

I've actually referred cases to this attorney's firm as he is one of a handful of certified specialists in bankruptcy. Never met him in person though:
