I was at the rear of the pack and heard an unusual sound approaching from behind. I casually looked over my shoulder and up rode a policeman on horseback. He gave me a nod and said “Good afternoon.” I replied with “Good afternoon. Nice horse.” Other people then noticed his presence and began to ask him questions about the horse. The light finally changed and everyone proceeded, including the officer, to cross the street.
