I love IDPA. I'll never win anything but I do it for fun, a hobby and practice, practice, practice. I got into it about 2 years ago while watching a group at my local outdoor shooting range. After watching two matches I bought my first semi-auto pistol and jumped into it cold feet.
Now I shoot IDPA about twice a month. Once in Fresno, CA and again at our local range near Winton, CA. I did the California State IDPA Match in Richmond last year and just last Saturday (7/12/08) I did the Regional State Match again in Richmond. The last 4 months I've done a few other ranges around the state for fun and even did Medford, Oregon last year while out riding the motorcycle up north on vacation. I've classifed on SSP, ESP and CDP as Sharp Shooter.
I'm always trying to get others interested into shooting and especially IDPA whether their a CCW hold or not. Is is classified as a game, but its the perfect way to practice for CCW holders I think.
I've since gotten into Glock Sport Shooting and have taken a couple of advanced handgun classes and did Front Sight on a special freebee deal a couple months ago. All this just because IDPA sparked an interest in shooting.
I just joined this forum and this is my first post. Hope I can find my way around as I am not used to the layout of this forum program.
