Welcome!
I am an instructor here in Kern and we help folks with their GC statements. I think you have a good shot at it. PM me and we can talk. Also, I will send you an article re: good cause that is very helpful.

Kern County does not generally recognize "recreational reasons" to get a permit. Travel for work and medical, on call, work in remote locations, that is usually good enough. However, company prohibitions about guns in the car on the "lease" of oil companies creates problems.
