My UT / FL fingerprint was a little friendlier at So County SD in OC. The fingerprinter was intrigued about the CCW process, wanted to get his own, but even though he was a Sheriff Deputy, he felt that his position was not looked upon as GC enough for an approval. I did not proffer any opinion, other than he should log on to this forum and begin the process if he really wanted it .... I happened to have an extra CalCCW.com card in my car, retrieved it and left it with him. Hopefully he made it to the sight and has aquired CCW....

I was surprised as to the lack of information that the local deputies have as to CCW availability for them. Maybe he just didn't listen during that part of training, or else the training is too caught up in procedures of regular process that they do not cover off-duty options.
