Please be aware the website I noted in the FAQ for Nevada County is old, has not been updated and addresses only that you apply to the sheriff. These are facts. If you live in an incorporated city with PD, you must apply to the PD. If not then you apply to the County Sheriff. The application being used in the city of Truckee for example is the standard DOJ form, not the modified form you print out of the County web. You also must have your training certificate when you submit your application to the Truckee PD.
