I've seen posts from members down your way, and I remember correctly, Santa Clara County is still Santa Clara County.  Since you are in South County, the COP in the city you live in may have a different policy than the SCC Sheriff that could work in your favor.
I too am waiting to hear the response from your COP. Depending on which of the 3 South County cities you live in (Morgan Hill, San Martin or Gilroy), and what agency provides LE for that city, that will be the policy you need a favorable ruling from. All that is assuming you don't live in an unincorporated area that the SCC Sheriff has jurisdiction over. His issuance policy is pretty well known. |
i don't live in an unincorporated area, and live within city limits. i've read elsewhere that the COP takes the 1st pass at all ccw permits, and then passes them on the sheriff, but that info was dated 2 over years ago. the other posts here seem to validate that.
if the COP responds, i'll let you guys know.
