There are up to 10 variants on HK's. The variant 1 (both of my HK's are Variant 1's) allows decocking with the manual safety. Other variants have no manual safety, and I believe there is one that is carried cocked and locked only (which you can do with the Variant 1 if you wish) ala O-Frame.
