Use a prop as an excuse to hold your cover garment in place.
I stopped for fuel and lunch in Chico on Wednesday this week. It was very windy. I find managing an untucked camp-style shirt reasonably easy while fueling up. It’s more of a challenge while walking out in the open. I had to walk across a major intersection to get to a deli. I grabbed a folder/binder out of my cab and carried it in a way that held my shirt in place. Sat down, had lunch, scribbled a few notes as I retrieved voice mail, and left in the same manner I arrived. I could have just as easily used a folded newspaper, computer bag, shrunken head, etc…
