Welcome, Cheet!
First, don't post your cause publicly. We have this rule for your protection, and ours - we've found that when people post their cause, inevitably other people start cutting and pasting it, and using it in their own applications. Soon issuing agencies start seeing the same cause time and again, and deny them all. You were pretty generic, but still, it's just something we don't talk about here. If a moderator comes along and edits your post, don't take it personally.
As for getting approved at this point - no, you're not doomed. I had exactly the same situation. I was turned down, a couple of years later I found this site, got some help writing out my cause statement, re-applied and was approved. You DO have to list the denial on your application, but if it was turned down for lack of cause, that won't hurt you.
So - write up your cause. It should be simple, straightforward and true. It should be less than 3 paragraphs and more than 2 sentences. Send it to CCWInstructor by email (greg@firearmstraining.com) with "Good Cause review" in the subject line, and he'll take a look at it.
In the meantime, look around, read the FAQ's. In OC you have a pretty good chance.
