The few times I wear a fanny-pack, it's because I'm in need of carrying a first-aid kit or it's obvious that I have a need of a pocket and my clothing does not have any. It would not look too out of place then. Most of the time, if you were to see me wearing one, there's no mistaking that pack for what it is... a medical kit. When I last worked on an ambulance, it absolutely looked like it was part of my gear.
