There is not a one holster, one method answer to your question.
Like most of us who know, you will likely end up with two holster boxes. A box full of those that work for YOU and another, less full hopefully, of those that don't.

Personal preference, comfort, concealability, style of dress, the weather, the people you have to be around (I'm thinking of hugger's and toucher's) and the places you need to be are all factors.

My daily holster is an Alessi ankle rig and/or an MTAC IWB (depending on my situation that day).

I also have a collection of CTAC Paddle OWB Holsters I wear when I need the ability to frequently go off and on. Also, handy for when my pants get too tight for the IWBs.

When I can get by with it, a fanny pack works great. I have two styles I really like, the Tommy's Gunpack and GunGear pack.

For Mt. Biking I have a Chest Pack that looks really dorky but it works very well.

For hunting or driving a shoulder holster is hard to beat.
