I'll second the Kahr PM9. About a year ago I was 3 days into a DROS on a NAA Guardian .380 when I got the call, "Ugh, you're not law enforcement by any chance are you?"
"No."
"Well, we can't sell you the NAA Guardian. It came off the list and we didn't realize it when we sold it to you . . ."
The Kahr PM9 was my consolation purchase and it's been reliable and accurate. It wasn't what I wanted but in many ways was much better than what I wanted. I'm still burned about the Guardian though but short of a PPT or moving there's not much I can do about it. Such is life in California . . .
