That's probably one of the worst written laws I think I have ever seen. To say that you can be more intoxicated while carrying a firearm than you can while driving a car is ridiculous. Firearms and alcohol shouldn't be mixed if you are a responsible gun owner. It's one or the other.
Even responsible LEOs can do some really stupid things while carrying and being drunk. I know one former LEO that drew his firearm and fired off several shots in the air when he was drunk. And yes, the "former" description was because of this event. I know another that drew his weapon while in a bar so he could show it to a buddy. I saw him do this. Neither of these guys would have done this while sober.
