I use Hoppes #9, and in my blissfull ignorance, I THINK these gun barrels are squeaky clean. They certainly LOOK good, but I read about the evils of insidious "copper fouling" and I start to get the cold shivers and sweats in fear of this dreaded "copper fouling".
How do you know the fancy-ky-mpro gel stuff is doing a better job than plain old Hoppes #9? Could I have "copper fouling" and never know it? Is this as bad as the old "ring around the collar" commercials?
Mostly the bullets still leave the barrels at a decent rate of speed, so I guess things are OK, but I have lingering doubts, unspecified fears, even deep seated concerns..."COPPER FOULING" could be secretly causing me grief, YET I DON'T YET KNOW IT?!
WORSE THAN GERMS, VIRUSES OR EVEN (dare I even say it) LIBERALS!!!!!! Its COPPER FOULING!!!
