i remember asking this question during my ccw class.the instructor said a driver with a valid ccw permit should let the officer know that he or she is licensed to carry before he or she even hand over the DL and proof of insurance to the officer however if the permit holder is a passenger he or she is not obligated to inform the officer about the ccw or that he or she is armed unless asked by the officer.
