I think he was trying to sell you a bigger gun! ANY gun if used correctly (shot placement) will drop an attacker.
I personally Carry a Taurus PT-145 Mil Pro. It's pretty small and easily concealable. I know a few people Carry Glocks. My buddy uses a Glock 22 .40 (Full size) For me, I think the taurus' 10+1 .45 ACP is nice. When I carry 2 mags That gives me 21 shots.
But again, ANY gun if used correctly will stop most attackers.
