Umm... You sure you weren't messing with it? I've never seen a slide lock lever 'slip out' by accident if the spring wasn't broken and hadn't been messed with. Strange things can happen, I suppose...

In any case, I'd take it to a Glock armorer or the store you bought it; it should be easy to get back into fighting shape.
