From what you are saying, it kinda sounds like you might have broken your slide lock spring. This pieces sits underneath the locking block. If there is no "spring" to your take down levers, then this is most likely your culprit.
I haven't heard of one failing on a 30SF, but I have seen it happen a few times on the 27's (40S&W is so abusive!). It's a cheap part but tricky to install if you don't know what you are doing.
Please don't take my word for what may be wrong with your Glock. Without seeing the gun, it's hard to diagnose! Most gunsmiths should be able to diagnose and fix your problem.
