I have a Glock 30SF and I have not had any problems with it at all, so far it has worked every time.
I have read the comments about this model having problems but have not looked into it myself, in doing so, these are my observations. The back metallic inserts, where the slide rails ride, are positioned closer to the rest of the frame compared to the front rails, so that the slide look like it is closer to the frame in the back portion of the firearm. If you look at the gap between the slide/frame in the front area vs. the back area, the gap is less in the back area. The metallic inserts, where the slide groove rides, have a closer tolerance in back. The slide is riding at an angle and not parallel to the frame. Could be a QC issue.
It would be good to able to compare a regular model 30 vs. a 30SF. Or for that matter, a 30SF vs. any other Glock model. Looking at a G-23, and G-27 slides, the way they are located, I would say that they look pretty much parallel to the frame, the gap between slide/frame look fairly uniform to me.
As far as the Kimber Ultra CDP II, remember that this baby requires that you replace the recoil spring every 1,500 rounds. If you do not, your gun may fail to go to battery.
Hope this helps.
