I have the G30, and my dad has the 30SF. I still have yet to take them apart and really compare them closely side by side to see what is different about them. So far they appear to be the exact same gun to me.
But yeah, neither my 30, nor my dads 30SF has ever experienced that problem. My Kimber Ultra Carry II sure has though! So many times that I have gotten nervous about even carrying it for a reliable self defense gun. Pretty sure I fixed it now with a little sanding of the contact surfaces in the slide because it has not failed to close all the way for a while now. But it will take a lot more trouble free shooting for me to really trust it.
