Citrus Heights stood-up their OWN PD in 2006. Before that, they contracted with the SSD for their services. The SSD probably wasn't too happy about losing that... In the Metro Sacramento Area, they only have a contract with Rancho Cordova for the PD. If you see a Rancho Cordova PD car driving around, it's being driven by a Sheriff's Deputy... who may or may not be be wearing a Rancho Cordova PD uniform.
