I just sent the following letter to all California State Senators and Assemblymen. There are on a couple small changes from my original proposed letter that I posted previously.

Quote:
Dear xxxxxxxx,

I am very disappointed that Senators Mimi Walters, Tom Harmon, and Bob
Huff, Assemblymen Mike Duvall and Jeff Miller, and Assemblywoman Diane
Harkey have chosen to align themselves with appointed Orange County
Sheriff Sandra Hutchens by agreeing to be part of the “Honorary Host
Committee” for an upcoming fund raiser for her.

Sandra Hutchens represents the worst that Law Enforcement bureaucracies
have to offer. She has demonstrated time and again that she does not
have the best interest of the people she is supposed to serve at heart.
All of her actions to date have been done to satisfy her own self
interests and those of people she is beholden to from her past.

She has consistently demonstrated a lack of respect for the opinions and
wishes of those she is supposed to serve. She has also demonstrated a
willingness to use very aggressive, heavy handed methods to quell or
undermine the voices or actions of those who speak out against her.

Do not take my word for this, your own independent research will confirm
what I have said.

Like many of their constituents I will not be attending the fund raiser
for Sandra Hutchens due to her HOSTILE stance on fundamental rights and
demonstrated distrust of the people she is supposed to serve.

Like many of her constituents, I will not be supporting Sandra Hutchens
in any way. More importantly, since the politicians noted above are
supporting her, I will not be supporting any of them in any way.

If any of them should choose to run for a higher office I will not vote
for them. Additionally, I will send as much money as I can afford to any
candidate who opposes them for their current office or any office they
may choose to run for in the future, regardless of their political
affiliation.

The politicians named above are not public servants. They have forgotten
who they work for and to whom they are accountable. They represent the
worst stereotypes that are commonly applied to politicians and place all
elected public servants in a bad light

Please do not repeat the mistakes of these politicians. Respect your
constituents and their opinions as an elected public servant is expected
to do.

Sincerely,

Me
Concerned California Citizen
Using an assumption that the administrators for the Senate and Assembly Email Servers used consistent conventions in assigning email addresses, I located some published email addresses for some State Senators and Assembly Members. Not surprisingly, most do not publish their assigned email address.

However for those that did, there was clearly a very consistent convention used in assigning email addresses. I created email distribution lists based upon these conventions and sent the above email off to both entire distribution lists.

I received six (6) automated replies from Senators indicating my letter had been received, including Bob Huff. Unfortunately, i received a failure notice indicating the remaining Senators had not received the email.

I had much better luck with the Assembly Members, however. I received twenty-eight (28) automated replies indicating my letter had been received and only two (2) failure notices.

As soon as I figure out how to export these distribution lists, I will post them.

Thanks,

Poogsdad
