I doubt it ever will give you trouble. One instructor got better than 50K though his M&P9 with one cleaning. I suspect that with all of the demand right now that LASD got one that slipped though with a bad barrel. When I hear as many hysterical reports of M&P failures as I do equally hysterical reports of Glock kabooms I'll grow mildly concerned.
In the meantime I'll enjoy my 3 M&Ps even if I shoot 1911s a heck of a lot better. Of course I've been shooting 1911s forever and M&Ps only a short time.
