OC Weapons Permits

(Santa Ana, CA) -- Orange County's new sheriff is canceling the concealed weapons permit held by a former chairman of the California Republican Party. The "Orange County Register" reports Sheriff Sandra Hutchens notified lawyer Mike Schroeder this past week. Schroeder was a top advisor to disgraced former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona. Schroeder says he's not happy and he will fight to keep his permit. Carona handed out hundreds of permits-to-carry during his tenure, many to political supporters. Hutchens has been trying to cut back the number of weapons permits to pre-Carona levels and says many current permit holders haven't shown they really need the protection.
